One of the great things about completing the AECP are the opportunities to share our work with a larger audience! This is the second blog hop I’ve been asked to participate in with theses talented people, and it is such an honor.

I love the creative ideas we get from sharing with other educators and designers.

If you are undecided about enrolling in the Altenew Educators Certification Program, don’t be. This program is designed to help every level of crafter!

Did you know, the program is self-paced? That means no pressure!

The educators program is a lot of fun, it’s challenging, and best of all the courses push you to be your creative best!

On to the hop!

You most likely got here from Colleen Balija post. Welcome, and thanks for stopping by!

This month’s hop theme is Floral with Geometric Elements.

I love doing florals and I jumped right in, using techniques I learned from Tania Ahmed’s class “Demystifying Mixed Media” .

I created two beautiful backgrounds with one technique!

Now to some technical stuff!

The first thing I did was cut out the Garden Trellis Die from cardstock and use it as a stencil.

I managed to get a beautiful background from the die cut, as well as from the negative space with colored embossing paste!

The trick for this technique is to separate the cardstock stencil from the background as soon as possible and dry both out completely!

On this first card I added Mango Smoothie re-inker dye ink to my embossing paste and applied it to the die cut trellis to get this luminous yellow background. I then colored the flowers  using the 36 Pan Watercolor set and  created a bit more interest by adding black splatters to my background before addhereing the flowers.

This second card was created using the die cut trellis I previously used as a stencil and adding some blue splatters on my card front panel before attaching the trellis and flowers.

Again, these flowers were colored using the 36 Pan Watercolor Set and adhered using foam tape.

Close Ups!

I really like these cards, and I loved sharing a new technique. I hope you’ll give a new technique a try as well.

Have a great day, and thanks for spending time here today. Now go and visit Pam Boedeker for some more fun!
