Paint-A-Flower- Paeonia Japonica
One of the best things about Altenew is their great flower stamp sets. Weather the flowers are for layering, single stamping images, or in this case watercoloring; Altenew does a great job at creating flowers!
This card is made with the Monthly Paint-A-Flower Stamp set : Paeonia Japonica. I just love these! The stamp set is actually bigger than the image in the card, but I only used a portion of the stamped image to watercolor on.
I used two different watercolor techniques with this stamp set. For the flowers I used the wet on wet, very gently. I still wanted to stay in the lines, but wanted to achieve the watercolor “look” . For the leaves I used the “dry” technique and made the leaf veins quite strong, allowed them to dry, and then used the lighter color green with wet on wet to get a stronger water look.
I accented these lovely flowers with bright gold washi tape, and gold sequins. With a deep wine colored paper strip on the top portion for my sentiment. I embossed the sentiment using white pigment ink and clear embossing powder. I like the crispness of using the white pigment ink.
That’s it. Lots of fun, and the card is really nice to send a friend some encouragement.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you’ll sign up to follow me on my paper crafting adventures!
